Press Release Summary: Pixelmetrix starts 2008 with an Emmy win for its DVStation Transport Stream Analyzer
Press Release Body: Pixelmetrix, the global expert in Preventive Monitoring for digital television and IPTV networks, started the new year with an Emmy win. Pixelmetrix received the Engineering & Technology Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for its DVStation Transport Stream Analysis products. The award was presented earlier today at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas.
Scoring high in the Monitoring for Compliance Standards for ATSC & DVB category, this award defines the automated compliance testing to the multi-channel transport stream standards as defined by the DVB and ATSC. Pixelmetrix DVStation provides automatic confidence-checking and reporting functionality without the need for an operator to verify program transport quality by visual QC or other manual measurement methods. The DVStations are deployed to monitor MPEG transport streams and measure parameters against standardized conformance specifications.
"We are thrilled to receive this honour from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This distinction reflects positively on Pixelmetrix as the first Singapore company to be accorded the Engineering & Technology Emmy Award. Our DVStation product line has turned in a strong showing over the years, and this esteemed recognition certainly adds prestige to our myriad of Test & Measurement solutions for DTV and IPTV networks worldwide," said Danny Wilson, Pixelmetrix President & CEO, who was on stage to receive the award. \"For sure, this award justified all the late night pizzas,\" he jestered.
Said Mr Lim Chin Siang, Director, IT & Technology, the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), "This prestigious recognition of Pixelmetrix, a recipient of MDA's Digital Technology Development Scheme (DTDS), reflects the growing recognition of Singapore-made cutting-edge technologies on the international scene. We will continue to work closely with, and support the industry in the development of original and innovative products or concepts for the region and beyond."
The Pixelmetrix DVStation product line is widely used in broadcast television networks, cable and satellite program providers, satellite teleports, mobile truck uplinks, digital television stations and various other satellite facilities throughout the world. Networks, distribution channels and terrestrial DTV stations benefit from Pixelmetrix technology by being able to assess the quality and integrity of their broadcast content.
Pixelmetrix develops a host of IPTV and Preventive Monitoring systems that offer unique attributes and versatility, allowing operators to achieve end-to-end visibility and keep tabs on their network architecture.
